Schoharie-Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Rykowski, age 71, of Esperance, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, December 20, 2022, at Albany Medical Center, following an illness. He was surrounded by his beloved family, at the time of his passing.

 Bob was born in Schenectady on September 25, 1951, son of the late John and Josephine (Ruscito) Rykowski and educated in local schools. He was a proud US Army Veteran, enlisting on June 17, 1971 and was honorably discharged on June 7, 1974. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Bob was married to Cerese V. Rykowski (Grant) on July 21, 1996 at the Rotterdam Knights of Columbus; blessed Union of 26 years. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, Schenectady.  Bob loved camping, fishing and the NY Giants. He was the owner/operator of Rykowski Insurance, Esperance, NY.

Survivors include his devoted family; wife, Cerese at home; step children, Robert Pogorzelski, Tonya Naparty-Kenific, Jeremy Naparty, Sandra Naparty and Cristin Johnson; his cousins; Marylou Guerriero, Maryann Sinnenberg, Anne Marie Spadafora, Rosalie Onnie Nappi and many more.  Also surviving is a brother, Richard Brayden and wife Sherry; a brother, Charles Currie; brother, Robert Currie; and a sister, Denise Yeary and husband Michael.  He is also survived by his late brother, John Rykowski's, two children.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sherry.

A funeral service will be held at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, 518-355-5770, on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 commencing at 11 am with Father Richard Carlino, pastor of St. Anthony’s Church, Schenectady, officiating.  Procession will follow to Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, where he will be laid to rest at 1:30 pm.  Military honors will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may pay their respects on Wednesday, Dec. 28th from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
