Robert Alesio Obituary

Robert R. Alesio, 73, of Avenue A, passed away on September 9th, 2023 after long illnesses.

Bobby was born in Schenectady on August 26, 1950 a son of Samuel and Gilda Nigro Alesio. He graduated from Linton High School, class of 1969, then attended Schenectady County Community College and SUNY at Plattsburg, earning his Bachelors' in Business

Administration. He joined his family businesses, American Body Works and American Campers Sales on Van Vranken Avenue, retiring after many years.

Bobby had a very kind soul; he loved all his dog's named 'Mike'; his family, and friends who were very important to him. He had a passion for and loved playing his guitar, so much that he and his sister attended the first Woodstock Concert in Bethel, NY in 1969. He entertained everyone with his wonderful stories and enjoyed the many years he spent in York Beach with those he loved.

The Alesio family is so grateful to Bobby's dear friends, Peter and Lisa Miccio, Lisa Brown, Ned Feldman and Johnny Williams for their care, friendship, and helping their friend through his final journey.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents, his loving siblings, Carl Alesio, Sammy Alesio, and Geraldine Mooney and his nephew and Godson, Dr. Carl R. Alesio.

He is survived by his devoted and loving family, his; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret Alesio and Brendan Mooney; nieces and nephews, Karen Alesio, Christopher (Betsy) Alesio, Craig Alesio, Dr. Timothy (Megan) Mooney, Kathleen "Katie" Mooney and Kevin Mooney; also several great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he so dearly loved.

Services will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby's memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at www.mohawkhumane.org
