Michael Alfieri Schenectady - Michael Alfieri, 74, passed peacefully, with his niece and her husband by his side, in Las Vegas, NV, on December 25th, after a long and courageous journey with frontotemporal dementia.

He was born on June 28th, 1951, in Schenectady, NY, to Frank and Ann Alfeiri. A graduate of Linton High School, Michael went on to receive a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida.

He was a longtime Schenectady County employee, having started his career with the Schenectady County Sheriff's Department, then as Clerk of the Schenectady County Board of Legislatures, followed by the Schenectady County Board of Elections, retiring as the Deputy Election Commissioner.

Michael loved the sounds of live music, dancing and strolling the streets of Saratoga. His gentle nature and love of family will always be remembered.

Michael is survived by his devoted sister, Carol A. Bartz, of Glenville; his niece and fierce advocate, Amy Drumright (Cory) of Las Vegas, NV and several loving cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the team at Pro Care Hospice, who truly filled Michael's final days with love, support, compassion and most of all, dignity. To Sylvana DiLeva, also a fierce advocate, devoted nurse and most importantly, friend not only to Michael, but the entire family.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, with a funeral service to immediately follow.
