Charles Arthur Diamond, 72, of Scotia, NY, passed away on November 3, 2024. Born on November 13, 1951, he was a beloved figure known for his vibrant personality and infectious humor. Chuck was a graduate of Linton High School, class of 1969. His life was marked by a commitment to service, beginning with his role as a coxswain in the United States Navy from February 1970 to January 1974. Chuck met his wife, Karen, while serving as a bartender at Danny's Restaurant. After getting married he spent the next 10 years working on scaffolding and core drilling for Albany Ladder. Later, he spent about 7 years working for Microware Distribution. Chuck also spent 10 years working construction for Plank LLC, before finally retiring while working at the Knolls Atomic Laboratory in 2019. He also spent his spare time working for Riverview Cancer Care. As an avid outdoorsman, Chuck loved every year going deer hunting with his friends and family in Schoharie, NY. On the occasion he did not shoot a deer, he made sure to give you a count of how many he saw. In his younger years, he enjoyed pitching for various local softball teams; his favorite being Grand Blvd Fire Department in Niskayuna. Chuck spent many summers with his family barbecuing, camping, and fishing. When his kids got older he spent more time with them singing karaoke, playing cards, and even a little beer pong. Chuck Diamond was a force that lit up any room he entered. Most of his conversations started with "Wait...Wait, I have a joke for ya!" Chuck was also known as "the Wolfman". It was very rare to be in his company and not give out a loud howl. He was loving, caring, and kind, especially to a stranger he just met. Chuck was extremely dependable, his word was his bond. He would always be there when you needed him, even if it was a phone call to say he loved you.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Jean Piel Diamond; three sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Arthur Diamond Jr, Richard Rock Diamond, of Schenectady, NY, Joseph Paul Diamond and Rebecca Diamond of Scotia, NY; four siblings, Lester (Cindy) Diamond, Wayne Russell, Timothy (Christine) Scott, Nancy Diamond. He is survived by his Aunt Doris, who was like a second mother to him, as well as many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and of course by his best buddy, and grand-pup, Link Diamond. He is predeceased by his father Daniel Diamond Sr; mother Margaret Diamond; brother Daniel Diamond Jr; and sister Faye Diamond.
