Charlotte "Sharky" Knowlton Germain
Greenville, SC
Charlotte Knowlton Germain, 72, known as "Sharky" to her friends, passed away peacefully on July 13, with family at her side. Born in Saratoga Springs NY, Sharky had a love for life, friendships, and adventures. She has fond memories of living in San Francisco, Ballston Lake and her home for many years in Greenville, SC.
Sharky, a 1969 Linton High graduate, was an endearing entertainer, "hostess with the mostest," "social butterfly," and amazing grandmother to both Gavin and Gabby. She loved to travel, make wonderful memories with her family and was a life-long dog lover. She brought smiles and laughter to everyone she met. She enjoyed a successful career in the hospitality industry. Her friendships with her coworkers and lifelong friends have been enduring. To know Sharky is to always think of her with a heartfelt smile; and smitten with her uncompromising free spirit. Special gratitude to her wonderful friends for their unconditional kindness over the years.
Sharky was preceded in death by her husband Barry W. Germain, parents Gordon F. and Charlotte R. Knowlton of Schenectady, NY, and sister Donna Curri of Utica, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gleason, beloved grandchildren Gabby and Gavin, sister Sandy McPartlon, and many nieces and nephews.
A loving family woman and great friend to all, Sharky leaves behind an exceptional legacy of service, kindness, and generosity that was felt by so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Sharky's home on Saturday, July 20 at 2 pm.
