Thomas D. Young, 70, passed away on Saturday, July 31, at home with his loving wife by his side. Thomas was predeceased by his brother Donald Young, sister in-law Donna Feulner, and brother in-law David Longo. Thomas was born in Cape Cod Massachusetts to the late Thomas Fuller and Dorothy Dixon Fuller. Thomas was graduate of Linton High school. After high school Thomas joined the Army and faithfully served 6 years achieving the rank of SP4. Upon leaving the Army Thomas was employed by the General Electric company for 20 years working as a master carpenter. Thomas interests were many and fun. Thomas had a passion for sports cars. He loved his Roush Mustang so much that he would back it out of the Garage, wash it and then return it to the same spot. Thomas also loved model trains, he built a full small town scale model in his basement, and a passion for bowling. His hobbies were dear to him, but the love for his grandkids was all consuming; countless hours playing Dinosaurs, Thomas the Train, model trains, Mario Cart and babysitting. They were the light of his eye and gave him purpose. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Judy (Longo), Stepdaughters Nicole Roohan (Kevin), Gwen Catalano-Paul (Jeff), grandchildren Anthony Roohan, Brennan Roohan, Brandon Paul, sisters Bethany Fuller and Meredith Fuller and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice for their caring and wonderful support during this difficult time, as well as Tammy Longo for sitting by Tom's bedside reading to him in his last days. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Cyrils' Cemetery, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Rotterdam EMS 2007 Cardiff Rd., Schenectady, NY 12303.
